Searching for an Account
To start an account search from the CIMS portal screen, enter an account number to find a known account or click the Advanced Search link.
If the account number is entered, the account number search will locate a specific account.
The Advanced Search locates accounts based on selected criteria. If the purpose of the search is to find all customer accounts for Account Type Billing, select the account type from the dropdown list and click the Search button.
Account Number
To search for an account using the account number:
1. Log into ePermitting.
2. Select CIMS Portal from the CIMS menu. The CIMS portal screen appears.
3. Type an account number in the Account field.
4. Click GO. The Account Information screen for the account number appears.
Advanced Search
To search an account using the Advanced Search link:
1. Log into ePermitting.
2. Select CIMS Portal from the CIMS menu. The CIMS portal screen appears.
3. Click Advanced Search. The Account Search screen appears.
4. Enter search criteria in one or more fields to restrict search results. Entering a combination of search criteria will restrict your search to all the conditions you select.
5. Click Search. The Account Search Results screen lists all accounts that meet the search criteria.
6. From the Search Results screen, click the desired account number. The Account Information screen appears.
NOTE: Click Refine Search to enter or change search criteria that narrows the search results or to perform an additional search.
